Our festive tree is comprised of objects exhibited at Homo Faber 2018 in September. Each embodies creativity and craftsmanship in its own very special way and is a reminder of what an exciting year it has been for artisanal talent. Thank you to everyone whose work features on our tree!

France

Nathanaël Le Berre, a laureate of the Fondation Bettencourt Schueller’s Prix Liliane Bettencourt ‘pour l’intelligence de la main’ in 2014, studied art history and stained glass before turning to metalwork. His work is inspired by nature, like this apple made from hammered brass.

Serbian ceramicist Velimir Vukičević has a fascination with trompe l’oeil and three dimensional drawings. His sculptures make us question whether what we see is real or just an illusion.

GIORDANO VIGANÒ

Italy

Young designer Andrea Tan was a student at Milan’s Creative Academy when she worked with master cabinetmaker Giordano Viganò to create this wooden fan, using the magic of marquetry to evoke the movement of air.

Italy

Topping our tree is Corona Laura, a ceramic majolica-glazed crown brushed with pure gold. It was made by Ceramica Gatti, one of the oldest ceramics companies in Faenza, a centre of majolica ware for centuries.
