ミケランジェロ財団Creativty and Craftsmanship部門が、世界各国から高度な職人技をヴェネチアに集め、紹介する展覧会「ホモ・ファベール：工芸が描くより人間らしい未来」は、開催を2022年4月10日〜5月1日に変更いたします。

人間の誠実さ、経済活力、技の表現、雇用の成長、社会的包摂、多様化する才能の認知などを視野に入れ、工芸の再定義を目指すミケランジェロ財団は、ホモ・ファベールイベントを通じて世界中から心躍る表現の数々を紹介していきます。

諸状況を踏まえ、ジョルジョ・チーニ財団、コローニ手工芸財団と協議のうえ、ホモ・ファベールの会期を改めます。

健康と安全を鑑みても、世界の工芸界が新型コロナウイルス感染拡大に脅かされるようなことがあってはなりません。ホモ・ファベールの会場は、名匠の作品づくりの様子を直接見られる貴重な機会ですが、同時に彼らを危険に晒すとも言えます。今回のゲスト国である日本の人間国宝を含め、世界中の職人や工房の代表者たちがヴェネチアを来訪しづらい状況が続くなか、彼らの存在なくしてはイベントの開催も難しいと考えました。

また、広く、確実に価値を伝えるために、ホモ・ファベールは、世界的な評価の高い現代美術文化イベント、ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ国際美術展の開催と連動。同展やジョルジョ・チーニ財団を含むパートナーとも連携し、現代工芸の新たな側面に注目しながら、広く知られる伝統美の世界に、今の時代にふさわしい美しさの概念を重ね合わせ、探究してまいります。

キュレーターチームの協力のもと、ホモ・ファベールは、これまでにはない工芸のあり方、想像を超える体験、次世代のスター、才気溢れるクリエイティブな美の世界など、魅力的な文化プログラムを提供します。

ジョルジョ・チーニ財団、Civita Tre Venezieをはじめとしたパートナーの協力を仰ぎ、ミケランジェロ財団は、入念な準備のもと、情熱を持って来春の開催を目指していきます。

Homo Faber Event

Crafting a more human future

Fondazione Giorgio Cini, San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice

Homo Faber Event is a major cultural exhibition dedicated to fine craftsmanship. Organised by the Michelangelo Foundation, the international event celebrates master craftsmanship, seeking to increase recognition and visibility for master artisans. A showcase of craftsmanship excellence, the exhibition shines a light on a rich diversity of materials and crafts, from paper making to wood working, from the rarest artisanal techniques to some of the most iconic examples of contemporary craftsmanship, and explores their links to the world of creativity and design. Imagined by a handpicked team of world-renowned designers, curators and architects, the exhibition stretches over a number of magnificent spaces throughout the Fondazione Giorgio Cini located on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in the heart of Venice. The Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship believes in a future which values master craftsmanship and places the human hand at the centre of production.
