Homo Faber svela i segreti del restauro
Che cosa non vediamo in un’opera d’arte sapientemente restaurata?
In occasione del grande evento Homo Faber, che si terrà a Venezia a settembre di quest’anno, sarà possibile osservare a distanza ravvicinata tutto quello che si cela dietro il mestiere del restauratore nella mostra Restaurando (Restoring Art’s Masters).
Isabella Villafranca Soissons, direttrice del Dipartimento di Conservazione e Restauro di Open Care, società milanese leader nel campo del restauro e della conservazione, porterà i suoi maestri a Venezia, per permettere al pubblico di assistere dal vivo al restauro di cinque opere d’arte antica e contemporanea. Un arazzo, un antico dipinto, un’opera contemporanea, una cassapanca del Cinquecento in legno e stucco, e un oggetto di design estremamente iconico: un enorme piede in poliuretano espanso.
Spesso il lavoro del restauratore rimane dietro le quinte rispetto alla meraviglia dell’osservare un’opera restaurata. Homo Faber consentirà invece ai visitatori di ammirare questo processo in prima persona. L’uso della tecnologia GoPro permetterà infatti di scoprire i dettagli più sconosciuti del mestiere del restauratore, capace di dare nuova vita a un’opera d’arte.

Restaurando (Restoring Art’s Masters) è una delle 16 tappe tematiche che compongono il percorso di Homo Faber: Crafting a more human future, il primo grande evento culturale dedicato ai mestieri d’arte di tutta Europa organizzato dalla Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship.

Homo Faber is the first major cultural exhibition dedicated to the very best in European craftsmanship.
