Homo Faber : ouverture au public demain, 14 septembre 2018

Johann Rupert et Franco Cologni ont inauguré l’exposition Homo Faber à la Fondazione Giorgio Cini sur l’île San Giorgio Maggiore de Venise.
À partir de demain, 14 septembre 2018, le public pourra partir en toute liberté à la découverte d’Homo Faber, première exposition culturelle d'envergure consacrée à l’artisanat européen.
Le talent, le savoir-faire et la créativité des meilleurs artisans et designers européens seront présentés au détour des 16 espaces d’exposition, chacun imaginé par une équipe composée de
designers, de commissaires d’exposition et d’architectes de renom.
Ouverture du 14 au 30 septembre, tous les jours de 10h00 à 19h00 ; entrée gratuite.

La première exposition d’envergure consacrée à l’artisanat européen et son dialogue avec le design contemporain ouvrira ses portes au public demain, vendredi 14 septembre, sur l’île San Giorgio Maggiore de Venise, après son vernissage mercredi.

Luigi Brugnaro, maire de Venise, et Giovanni Bazoli, président de la Fondazione Giorgio Cini, se sont joint à Franco Cologni et Johann Rupert, fondateurs de la Michelangelo Foundation, organisatrice d'Homo Faber. Crafting a more human future à la Fondazione Giorgio Cini, pour inaugurer cette exposition sans précédent.

Installée dans l’un des plus beaux écrins de Venise, l’île San Giorgio Maggiore, Homo Faber rappellera au public la valeur de la main de l’être humain, en rendant hommage à l’excellence d’artisans venus de toute l’Europe, et à la créativité de designers qui permettent à ces extraordinaires compétences d’exprimer tout leur potentiel.

Organisée comme une véritable expérience immersive, Homo Faber offre aux visiteurs l’occasion inédite de rencontrer des artisans et de les observer en plein ouvrage. Des démonstrations sur place, des ateliers pratiques et un programme de débats ainsi que plusieurs concerts organisés en soirée permettront aux visiteurs de côtoyer au plus près le monde de l’artisanat et ses maîtres d’œuvre.

Chacun des 16 espaces d’exposition révèle un aspect différent de l’artisanat. Ils ont été imaginés par une équipe à la renommée internationale composée de commissaires d’exposition, d’architectes et de designers, dont Michele De Lucchi, architecte italien, Judith Clark, professeure de mode installée à Londres, Jean Blanchaert, galeriste, Stefano Boeri, architecte plébiscité dans son domaine et India Mahdavi, architecte d’intérieur basée à Paris.

Johann Rupert

South African business luminary Johann Rupert is the Chairman of Switzerland-based luxury group Richemont. Beyond his many leadership and business accomplishments, Mr Rupert has been instrumental in the creation of a number of organisations that reflect his commitment to promote a healthy society and a better world.

Franco Cologni

Franco Cologni is an Italian entrepreneur, author and cultural authority whose love of culture has shaped his eminent career in the world of luxury, notably as Chairman of Cartier International and since 2002 as a board member of Richemont. Mr Cologni has established a number of organisations championing creativity as well as culture, including the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, which works to promote master craftsmanship in Italy, and Milan’s Creative Academy, a unique postgraduate school of design run by Richemont. He is also a prolific author and editor specialising in the relationship between culture and luxury.

Collaborating on Homo Faber with the Michelangelo Foundation are partner organisations that share its vision including: the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, the Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, and the Triennale di Milano Design Museum.
