Homo Faber apre le porte al pubblico domani, 14 settembre 2018

Il 12 settembre 2018, Johann Rupert e Franco Cologni hanno inaugurato in anteprima Homo Faber presso la Fondazione Giorgio Cini sull’Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore a Venezia
Da domani, 14 settembre, il pubblico potrà esplorare liberamente Homo Faber, la grande manifestazione culturale dedicata ai mestieri d’arte in Europa
Progettisti, curatori e architetti di fama mondiale hanno ideato 16 spazi espositivi per omaggiare la maestria, la conoscenza e la creatività dei migliori artigiani e designer europei
Dal 14 al 30 settembre la mostra è aperta quotidianamente dalle 10 alle 19. L’ingresso è gratuito

Dopo il taglio del nastro che ha avuto luogo ieri, domani 14 settembre aprirà ufficialmente la grande manifestazione dedicata ai mestieri d’arte in Europa e ai suoi legami con il mondo del design sull’isola di San Giorgio Maggiore a Venezia.

Mercoledì scorso, il Sindaco della città di Venezia, Luigi Brugnaro, e il presidente della Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Giovanni Bazoli, hanno presenziato all’inaugurazione ospitata da Johann Rupert e Franco Cologni, co-fondatori della Michelangelo Foundation, l’istituzione no profit che ha organizzato Homo Faber. Crafting a more human future mostra che si sviluppa nel complesso monumentale della Fondazione Giorgio Cini.

La manifestazione ha luogo sull’Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore, una delle più suggestive di Venezia. Homo Faber vuole ricordare al pubblico lo straordinario valore rappresentato dalle mani umane, e porre in risalto l’eccellenza degli artigiani europei unita alla creatività dei designer.

Homo Faber è stata concepita per essere un’esperienza coinvolgente, che offre l’opportunità di incontrare gli artigiani e di ammirarli al lavoro. Per avvicinare il pubblico ai mestieri d’arte, ogni giorno si tengono dimostrazioni dal vivo, laboratori, un nutrito programma di incontri e dibattiti, oltre a una serie di concerti serali.

Ciascuna delle 16 mostre è dedicata a una prospettiva diversa dell’artigianato d’eccellenza. Sono state concepite da un selezionato team di curatori, architetti e progettisti di fama mondiale, tra cui l’architetto Michele De Lucchi, la docente di moda Judith Clark, il gallerista Jean Blanchaert, l’architetto Stefano Boeri e l’interior designer India Mahdavi.

Homo Faber è aperta tutti i giorni fino al 30 settembre. L’ingresso è gratuito, previa registrazione presso homofaber.com.

Johann Rupert

South African business luminary Johann Rupert is the Chairman of Switzerland-based luxury group Richemont. Beyond his many leadership and business accomplishments, Mr Rupert has been instrumental in the creation of a number of organisations that reflect his commitment to promote a healthy society and a better world.

Franco Cologni

Franco Cologni is an Italian entrepreneur, author and cultural authority whose love of culture has shaped his eminent career in the world of luxury, notably as Chairman of Cartier International and since 2002 as a board member of Richemont. Mr Cologni has established a number of organisations championing creativity as well as culture, including the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, which works to promote master craftsmanship in Italy, and Milan’s Creative Academy, a unique postgraduate school of design run by Richemont. He is also a prolific author and editor specialising in the relationship between culture and luxury.

Collaborating on Homo Faber with the Michelangelo Foundation are partner organisations that share its vision including: the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, the Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, and the Triennale di Milano Design Museum.
