The Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship is an international, non-profit institution based in Geneva, Switzerland, which celebrates and preserves master craftsmanship and strengthens its connection to the world of design. Rooted in a tradition of culture and excellence and in the realities and challenges of today’s global economy, the foundation seeks to support men and women who dedicate themselves to the pursuit of master craftsmanship, and to foster a new cultural movement built around the values that are essential for their work. The foundation focuses on Europe as a starting point for its activities, in recognition of the vital part craftsmanship has played in the economic and cultural fabric of the region for centuries. michelangelofoundation.org
French Hot Glass Family
Founded in 2018, the association French Hot Glass Family was created with the aim of bringing together, promoting, and supporting French glassmakers by hosting international workshops. Headquartered on the island of Belle-Île-en-Mer, France, its president is Fabien Barbeau, who also founded glassmaking cooperative Fluïd in the same location. By organising events and encouraging its members to do the same, the French Hot Glass Family works to invigorate the craft of glassmaking.
Fluïd
Master glassblower Fabien Barbeau founded the colourful glass workshop Fluïd in 2008 in Belle-Île-en-Mer. The team of seven glassblowers creates high end for objects for gastronomy, perfumery, hotels, and individuals while also working on bespoke creation in partnership with designers, artists and musicians. Pieces are available in a boutique open on the workshop. https://www.fluid.coop/
