The Haus der Farbe in Zurich was created with the aim of renewing pride in craftsmanship and strengthening the relationship between craft and design. Founded in 1995, its professional school initially focused on colour design in architecture, but later expanded to offer postgraduate programmes in a wide range of crafts. Taught by experienced professionals, the school's innovative courses combine theory and practice, with workshops at the heart of the training, giving students the space to learn and create and professionals the chance to meet and exchange knowledge. The Haus der Farbe also incorporates an institute which carries out research and undertakes consultancy work related to the use of colour in architectural design.
