Homo Faber Fellowship Programme Details

Where is the programme taking place?

For the first edition commencing in September, the Homo Faber Fellowship will benefit 20 duos of fellows and master artisans based in Cyprus, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom whose craft is strongly connected to their local region.

Who can apply?

Fellows must be over 18 years old and recent craft graduates (2023-2024). They must show talent and passion, whilst striving to become professional artisans.

Master artisans must have proven skills in their craft and demonstrate a willingness and need to transmit their skills to an aspiring craftsperson in order to secure the future of their craft.

To participate in the Fellowship both fellows and master artisans are expected to commit to the entirety of the programme from September 2023 – April 2024 and be willing to travel.

What does the programme offer?

The seven-month Fellowship incorporates:
• A 1-month certified entrepreneurial and creative masterclass in a creative residency
• A 6-month sponsored placement in a master artisan’s workshop
• Mentoring throughout the Fellowship
• A co-created object by master artisan and fellow with a possible business opportunity
