City & Guilds of London Art School

The City & Guilds of London Art School traces its origins back to 1854 when it started as a social enterprise. Today, it offers an important, specialist alternative to other models of art and craft higher education in the UK in contemporary fine art, conservation of cultural objects (BA and MA), and historic carving (including architectural stone and ornamental wood carving at diploma and postgraduate diploma level). The specialist nature of the Art School means it focuses on excellence and provides the one-to-one attention required by the subjects taught. It favours a student-centered approach and is committed to maintaining high levels of contact time with professionals. The courses are intensive and full time, with high staff-to-student ratios with tutors who are active and inspiring practicing professionals.
