Art Work - New book about contemporary art restoration is launched

Art Work, a new book presenting the complex issues involved in the restoration of contemporary art, was launched at the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art in Paris in May. Edited by Isabella Villafranca Soissons, director of the conservation department at Open Care in Milan, Art Work is a collection of texts reflecting on the unique challenges and different viewpoints involved in this artisanal profession. These diverse views were presented in a fascinating round-table discussion at the book’s launch by Elisabetta Galasso, CEO of Open Care; contemporary artist Marc Couturier; Grazia Quaroni, director of collections at the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art; Giuliana Setari, art collector and owner of the Dena Foundation; and Alberto Cavalli, co-executive director of the Michelangelo Foundation.
