Homo Faber Award at Cheongju Craft Biennale
The 14th Craft Biennale Cheongju, titled "Re_Crafting Tomorrow", explores how art, design and architecture can shape a world that connects humans, nature and culture.
As part of this year’s Biennale, the Michelangelo Foundation is delighted to present the Homo Faber Award to Seoul-based artist Cho Eunhee for her piece Cross Section of a Fruit. This award, offered through the 2025 Cheongju International Craft Competition, highlights her selection for the Biennale.
Cho, a jewellery artist, transforms Hanji – traditional Korean paper – into intricate sculptural forms through twisting, layering and weaving. Her practice bridges tradition and innovation, resulting in contemporary and poetic expressions of Korean craft traditions, techniques and materials.
