Founded in 1989, the Conseil des Métiers d’Art du Québec (CMAQ) is the province’s authoritative voice for fine craft, representing 1,000 master artisans across more than 100 crafts. A rigorous peer jury process guarantees excellence, and members benefit from tailored training, business guidance and legal support. CMAQ showcases their work through signature fairs such as Plein Art Québec and the Salon des Métiers d’Art du Québec, complemented by curated boutiques and digital platforms. As an influential advocate, CMAQ collaborates with governmental, academic and industry partners to shape cultural policy, preserve heritage skills and open international markets. Two thirds of its members are entrepreneurial women from every region, forging objects that embody Québec’s identity and sustainable future.
