Venice Glass Week

The fourth edition of The Venice Glass Week , this year entitled #TheHeartOfGlass takes place 5 – 13 September 2020. The international event celebrates the art of glass, focusing on the making of this material so precious to Venice’s artistic legacy and so central to life on Murano, with a curated programme of exhibitions, such as Mutazioni by Barbini, guided tours, live demos, online events and conversations and much more. One such initiative is Conversations on Glass by Apice, a series of six digital conversations in English that will be live-streamed on the The Venice Glass Week YouTube channel. The conversations invite key speakers from Italy and abroad, to reflect on the world of glass. The Michelangelo Foundation’s Cultural Council member, Jean Blanchaert who sits on the curatorial committee for the festival, is moderating the online conference: “Why Glass today. The relevance of Glass in art, design and craft”.
