Wallonie Design is a non-profit organisation founded in 2005 with the aim of increasing the use of design in the activities of local businesses and authorities based in Belgium’s Walloon region. Underpinning their work is the belief that design is essential to bring about innovation and anticipate changes in society. Since 2016, Wallonie Design has been running various initiatives to promote the crafts sector and show the strong and complementary links that unite craftspeople and designers. One of these initiatives is called Duos en Résonances, financed by the SofinaBoël Fund for Education and Talent, the project aims to get craftspeople working with designers to develop new ways of thinking about techniques, materials and an object’s function. Duos en Résonances is an open call that enables designers and craftspeople to meet and work together on an experimental project.
