Covid-19 Craftsmanship Surveys

Research is crucial to ensure informed strategy building and policymaking. In order to offer the most effective support that they can at this challenging time, many organisations are conducting specialised research to understand what schemes could benefit craftspeople and craft related businesses. The research is mostly taking the form of online digital surveys for craftspeople to fill in to provide information, which is then used to build support schemes. Here below are three of our network members engaged in research-based projects.

Chambres de Métiers et de l’Artisanat
This French survey launched in Paris is aimed at small businesses. The online questionnaire seeks to evaluate the impact of the Coronavirus on small businesses and gage how best to ensure a safe resumption of activities.

Institut National Métiers d’Art
This French survey is intended specifically for professionals in the field of applied arts and professions linked to living cultural heritage who are being impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. The online questionnaire asks creatives to outline the difficulties they are facing so that the organisation can develop effective response strategies.

Heritage Crafts Association
HCA have created an online questionnaire directed at craftspeople in the United Kingdom affected by Covid-19 in order to establish what forms of support and advocacy they need to pursue at this time.
